Compressors for all refrigerants

CHILLVENTA 2014 PREVIEW: Frascold is concentrating special attention at this year’s show on low GWP refrigerant compressors, compact screw compressors with integrated inverter and the automatic and continuous control system (ACVR) of the intrinsic compression ratio of the compressor.

FrascoldThese include reciprocating compressors for subcritical (SK2 series), and transcritical CO2 applications (TK), recips for hydrocarbons (AXH series) and HFOs (series AXE ), as well as compact screw compressors for HFOs and open screw compressors for ammonia (ATS).

The new range of compact screw compressors with integrated inverter CXIT is characterised by volume displacements up to 1085m3 / h (50Hz).

A unique feature is represented by the automatic and continuous control system (ACVR) of the intrinsic compression ratio of the compressor (Vi), which will be presented in conjunction with the integrated inverter (CXITV series).

The ACVR system may also be included on compact screw compressors designed for use inverter “stand-alone” (series CXIV) that Frascold already produces in the version with fixed compression ratio (series CXI).

The control logic of the Frascold-developed ACVR performs the calculation, and selection, for each working condition, of the best compression ratio of the compressor so as to maximise the COP of the application even when working conditions do not remain fixed in time. The outcome is the significant increase in seasonal efficiency (ESEER) of applications with compact screw compressors, currently not accessible with fixed or stepped compression ratio.
