Daikin expands Multi+ heating/cooling range

UK: Daikin has expanded its Multi+ air-to-air heat pump DHW and air conditioning range for larger households and medium-sized businesses.

Seen as a replacement option for DHW and space heating systems where air conditioning is also a requirement, the Multi+ has range now includes two new larger outdoor units and a floor-mounted 230l DHW tank.

The new outdoor units with a nominal capacity of 6.8kW or 9.0kW in cooling and 8.60kW or 10.00kW in heating enable connection to up to four indoor units in addition to a DHW cylinder. These are added to the smaller 4-port, 5.2kW system and a 120l wall-mounted cylinder launched last year.

The increased capacity ensures greater flexibility in tailoring indoor climate solutions and provides a variety of indoor units, including wall-mounted, floor-standing, and ceiling models to meet individual needs.

Multi+ is supported on Daikin’s Onecta app which is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. This allows the scheduling, control and monitoring of individual indoor units and the domestic hot water system from anywhere.

The Multi+ system is compatible with Daikin’s innovative Easyzone system. This allows multiple zones to be served by a single fan coil, effectively increasing the number of rooms that the unit can service and making it a more viable and cost-effective solution.

The Multi+’s programmable settings enable users to set priorities for space heating and cooling versus domestic hot water (DHW) according to their preference. Space heating and domestic hot water (DHW) heating can operate simultaneously for maximum comfort and efficiency.

Stephan Lang, Daikin’s residential applications product specialist said that the Multi+ heat pump incorporates several innovative design features driven by advanced technology. This includes a new fan design, featuring specially shaped fan blades that are said to significantly reduce sound emissions and lower power consumption.
