Javac adds A2L refrigerant recovery unit

ALTIMAUK: Javac has announced the UK introduction of a recovery machine and the imminent launch of a vac pump for the new and emerging A2L “mildly flammable” refrigerants.

With Europe phasing down high GWP refrigerants, many manufacturers and end users are increasingly looking to the “mildly flammable” A2L refrigerants and blends to provide them with a low GWP solution. To handle these new gases, installation and service engineers will require a range of spark-proof, ignition-protected tools.

Anticipating this demand, Javac UK has announced the availability of the Altima recovery machine. And there are more A2L tools to come: the launch of a spark-proof and A2L-approved vacuum pump – the Bulldog – is also said to be imminent, once final approvals and standards are confirmed.

Already available from Javac in Australia, the Altima recovery unit is a true multi-purpose machine, capable of handling existing HFC and HCFC refrigerants as well as the “mildly flammables” R32, the HFOs R1234yf and R1234ze and other A2L blends.

Weighing 16kg, the Altima promises a liquid recovery rate of 3.6kg/min and vapour recovery rate of 0.5kg/min. Featuring UL-listed ignition protected switches and circuit breaker, it employs a twin-head 3/4hp compressor and offers automatic shut off and integrated self purge.
