Panasonic expands commercial refrigeration portfolio

JAPAN: Panasonic has announced a major expansion of its commercial refrigeration equipment range with new CO2 and A2L condensing units.

The launch of new iCORE and iCOOL condensing units in October follows Panasonic’s acquisition of the Polish Area Cooling Solutions condensing unit business last December and the establishment of Panasonic Cold Chain Poland (PCCPL).

A total of 70 models will be available in the two series, covering a wide range of applications including retail stores, supermarkets, the HoReCa sector, gas stations and cold rooms.

iCORE is Panasonic’s flagship line of CO₂ condensing units with a wide choice of cooling capacities, starting with up to 29 kW for medium temperature applications, and up to 15 kW for low temperature requirements.

iCOOL is a range of inverter HFC and A2L-ready solutions, covering a wide spectrum of cooling capacities of up to 42 kW for medium temperature and up to 14 kW for low temperature applications.

The former Area Cooling Solutions factory in Wrocław is Panasonic’s fourth facility in the region. Equipped with a dedicated in-house R&D team focussed on advancing refrigeration technologies, the site will also house its training hub and a state-of-the-art refrigeration laboratory, set to open in early 2026. With localised production and a streamlined supply chain, Panasonic says the factory will enable significantly shorter delivery lead times across Europe.

“Our investment in Area Cooling and the creation of PCCPL were driven by a clear vision to become the European leader in refrigeration,” said Panasonic HVAC managing director Enrique Vilamitjana. “This range is the first major step in realising that vision, combining innovation, sustainability and market responsiveness.”
