Afram’s new Space Air to sell LG

Selling LG (l to r): LG’s Thain Gummer, LG president UK and Nordic Janghwa Lee, Neil Afram and LG Electronics product director Jenny Baek

UK: Neil Afram, founder and md of Space Airconditioning, the UK Daikin distributor that fell into administration in November, has formed a new company to distribute LG.

The new company, Space Air Ltd, was incorporated on November 11 2016 with Neil Afram as the sole director. As an LG distributor it will offer nationwide coverage from offices in Guildford and Bristol.

Describing Neil Afram as “one of the most influential individuals in the air conditioning marketplace”, Thain Gummer, LG’s head of distribution said: “We look forward to supporting Space Air Ltd and to working closely together as a team. They believe our range of equipment is well suited to their business and the huge strides we have taken in the last couple of years have impressed them as much as the sector at large. It became clear during our conversations that they are particularly excited by our engineering design support capability and anticipate working closely with the engineering team.”

Admitting to being impressed by the LG product, Neil Afram said: “They make equipment to extremely high standards and build quality, which we recognise and applaud. We’re looking forward to heading into a new period of growth in the air conditioning sector alongside LG.”

Rumours that Mike Nankivell is involved in the new venture have been strongly denied by the former Space director who retired in 2015. Mike told the Cooling Post: “While I wish Neil the very best of luck with his new venture, I have no involvement.”
