Brian Dale 1942-2014
UK: It is with deep regret that we report the passing of one of the UK refrigeration industry’s real characters, Brian Dale.
A career refrigeration engineer, Brian spent 30 years with General Refrigeration – at the time one of the UK’s leading refrigeration contractors – latterly as md.
He left in 1998 to form his own refrigeration contracting business, Sapphire Cooling Services, with colleagues Nigel Gettings and Martyn Stammers. Former colleagues describe him as a “people person”, and was well-liked by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Sapphire Cooling Services was an immediate success and although Brian retired, fully, last year, the company he helped to found continues to go from strength to strength and remains as a testament to his career.
A season-ticket holding Norwich City supporter, Brian was heavily involved in refrigeration in Suffolk/Norfolk and spent 18 active years on the committee of the East Anglian Refrigeration Society.
He will be sorely missed.
