Building reg updates online

UK: Certification body BESCA will be delivering Building Regulation updates online via their new e-learning course, aimed at those operating within the mechanical sector.

Part of the Building Engineering Services Association (BESA), BESCA acts as an independent UKAS accredited body helping businesses meet industry standards and promoting technical excellence in the building services sector.

“Our course offers engineers the perfect resource to update themselves on the core changes to the Building Regulations,” said Russell Mott, BESCA’s head of technical services. “It is vital that installers maintain their CPD and our course offers an efficient and practical way to do so.”

Those successfully completing the e-learning course applicants are also eligible to join the BESCA Competent Person Scheme. This qualifies members to notify ‘controlled works’ meaning they can self-certify completed works to meet the requirements of the Building Regulations without having to contact the Local Authority.  The scheme generates a Building Regulation compliance certificate for the client and is supported with an insurance-backed guarantee for light commercial and domestic works.

The course, which includes a final examination, will be available from March, costing £95+ VAT.

Contact the BESCA Helpdesk on 0800 6525533 or email info@besca.org.uk for further information.
