Changes at the top of Hitachi Europe

UK: In changes at the top of Hitachi Air Conditioning Products Europe, Gboyega “Femi” Obafemi has been appointed managing director.
Martin Richards, who has held the position of UK and Ireland manager of the Johnson Controls/Hitachi joint venture since 2010, has left the company.
Obafemi joins the company from the Amsterdam office and European headquarters of US manufacturer Watts Water Technologies where he was vice president and md – emerging markets.
However, he is best known in this industry for his time spent at Carrier, Toshiba Carrier UK and Johnson Controls.
He was appointed managing director of Toshiba Carrier UK and general manager of Carrier Building Systems and Services in 2007, based at the companies’ UK office in Leatherhead.
At the end of 2010, Obafemi left to join Johnson Controls as executive director/VP with responsibility for Johnson’s hvac and controls business throughout Europe. He joined Watts in July 2014.
Contacted by the Cooling Post, Femi Obafemi said he would be using his experience in the HVAC market to drive for growth with the Hitachi products.
