Distributor CDL in top 50 list

Fastest-50UK: Air conditioning distributor CDL has been named as one of the fastest growing companies in the North East.

The Sunderland-based Toshiba distributor was included in this year’s Fastest 50 list, organised by leading northern law firm Ward Hadaway and backed by local newspaper The Journal.

The Fastest 50 list highlights and celebrates the achievements of the profitable, privately-owned companies in the region which have grown their turnover by the largest amount in recent years.

This year’s Fastest 50 list contained businesses from a wide range of sectors from manufacturing and engineering to e-commerce, commercial development to travel and hospitality.

In the list for the first time, Cool Designs achieved 11th place amongst medium-sized businesses and in 32nd place overall.

Colin Hewitt, partner and head of commercial at Ward Hadaway, saw the variety of companies represented in the list as an indication of the continuing strength and vibrancy of the region’s business world.

“All the businesses listed here are forging ahead and seeing their turnover grow whilst remaining profitable – they are real trailblazers who deserve our support, encouragement and our applause,” he said.

Delighted at the accolade, CDL md Darrel Birkett said: “It’s testament to the hard work we have put in over the years, through difficult trading conditions we never lost sight of our core values. We’ve constantly and effectively striven to find innovative ways to share information with our client base while growing responsibly as a carbon neutral company.”
