The late Eddie Gittoes – honoured at the Cooling Industry Awards

UK: The significant contribution made by the late Eddie Gittoes to the UK refrigeration industry was recognised last night at the Cooling Industry Awards.

The founder and md of Arctic Circle, who sadly passed away at the end of last year, was posthumously awarded the prestigious Fred Jamieson Award for his career-long achievements and outstanding contribution to the industry.

The award was among a host of honours handed out to companies and individuals at last night’s event at London’s Hilton hotel.

Other individual winners were Sainsbury’s John Skelton who picked up the Gold Award and Star Refrigeration apprentice Lyell Perks who was named National Student of the Year.

The innovative social media campaign implemented by Steve Gill and featured on the Cooling Post  was another winner, picking up the Marketing Campaign of the Year Award.
