Ben Johnstone is the new MD at Portsmouth-based distributor Hushon

UK: Ben Johnstone has been appointed MD of Portsmouth-based air conditioning distributor Hushon UK following the retirement of co-founder Tony Martin.

As a result of the changes, the company is now jointly owned by Ben and his largely-retired father Ken Johnstone, who founded the business in August 1987 with Tony Martin. Paul Wadsworth remains as technical director.

Celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, Hushon UK was formed to distribute the Hushon range of medium and large capacity split and packaged air conditioning systems, latterly Hitecsa has been the main supplier of these products.

Building on its success in this field, air handling plant was added and, significantly, the Toshiba range of air conditioners in 2006, thus allowing them to offer one of the widest product solutions.

In his new role as MD, Ben Johnstone said: “Having now taken over the reins of Hushon UK, I look forward to continuing to provide our customers with the same level of customer service and support that they have come to expect over the last 30 years. We are also putting plans together to be able to increase our sales with the three suppliers that we currently represent.”
