IoR seeks service engineer “hero”

IOR-Service-EngineersUK: The Institute of Refrigeration is seeking nominations for its annual Service Engineers Section Lifetime Achievement Award.

The award is designed to recognise unsung heroes of the refrigeration and air conditioning industry who have spent a career lifetime as a hands on service, maintenance, installation or commissioning engineers.

Past winners of this award have shown that in addition to performing their day-to-day job responsibilities effectively, they have been willing to take on extra roles such as mentoring young technicians, giving toolbox talks to branches or colleges, or sharing their vast accumulated knowledge through internal bulletins or trade press articles.

The winner will pick up a cash prize of £400, a pewter beer tankard and an invitation to the IOR Annual Dinner on February 25 in London.
