UK: An app for calculating CO2 equivalents has won an award for facilities management company ISS.

The award from the Institute of Refrigeration Ireland recognised the app’s ability to calculate the CO2 tonne equivalent for the relevant F-gas used in refrigeration and air conditioning systems. It allows ISS technicians to update equipment data in three simple steps without having to make time-consuming calculations

ISS technicians are able to update system F-gas compliance records for thousands of assets in a faster, yet controlled and standardised manner. ISS says that this ensures data is always accurate and in the required format and allows technicians to improve the efficiency of each appointment.

Kath Fontana, managing director of ISS Technical Services commented: “We strive to deliver great value to our clients and constantly search for ways to innovate, whilst maintaining our duty of care to our customers and community. Our new app is one of the methods we can use to achieve this.”

“We have an in-house digital development team at ISS and together, we were able to develop a scalable, smart solution to capture the necessary data,” explained Pauric Connolly, general manager of ISS Technical Services. “It means we can ensure compliance for our clients, whilst improving speed, efficiency and productivity for our technicians.”
