UK: McQuay UK Ltd has recruited two new area sales managers as part of its strategic growth strategy.

Derek Howkins has been appointed area sales manager to cover Merseyside, Cheshire, Derbyshire, Lancashire, Flyde and Great Manchester, and Dave Tickle will cover the West Country.

Derek Howkins brings 14 years’ experience in the building services industry and will be responsible for external sales activities for air handling units and chillers. Derek joins the company from Nuaire Group, where he was employed for six years as northern sales manager, exceeding sales targets of £2m. Prior to Nuaire, Derek enjoyed huge success at Matthew & Yates in a business development role and was heavily involved in many successful commercial projects.

Dave Tickle has 46 years’ experience in the building services industry and previously worked as a director for John R Hurlstone & Partners, representing a number of manufacturers of building services products, including a specialist in thermal expansion. Starting his own business Hurlstones Ltd, he specialised in private and public sector projects involving healthcare, education, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and commercial office buildings.

“With so much of our work involving complex applications for major projects, it’s crucial that we operate a higher level of integration across our exceptional applications, sales and technical after-sales departments,” commented Mick Humphrey, McQuay’s national sales manager. “That’s why we have increased staff levels to meet increasing demand and to provide support to our highly knowledgeable team of engineering technicians, all of whom work closely with our business specialist sales teams across all projects.”
