Newcastle the venue for refrigeration day

12201451_sUK: The refrigeration industry moves to the North East on October 1 when Newcastle plays host to three events.

The UK’s SIRACH network will be visiting Newcastle University and the Joseph Swan Centre for Energy Research to look at the opportunities, challenges and new solutions offered by heating and cooling networks. On the same day, and at the same Newcastle University venue, Reinhard Radermacher will present an Institute of Refrigeration paper on Future Heat Pumping and Refrigeration Technologies. Then, in the evening, the annual IoR Northern Branch dinner takes place at the County Hotel by Thistle.

In a packed day, the SIRACH event will include a talk on the heating network at University of Warwick, including the use of novel innovations and organic Rankine cycle. David Pearson from Star Refrigeration will also explain innovation relating to 90°C 13MW heat pumps retrofitted to district heating. The event will include a facilitated networking session and a tour of the Byker district heating site. For further information click here.

At 14.00 at Newcastle University, Professor Reinhard Radermacher will present an IoR paper on the evolutionary and potentially revolutionary developments in heat pumping and refrigeration. Topics will include novel heat exchangers, future compressor developments and entirely new ways of producing refrigeration, defrosting and dehumidification. For further information visit the IoR website.

In the evening local IoR members and companies come together at the County Hotel by Thistle for the Northern Branch dinner. To check on availability of tickets for this event email Rebecca Treece-Birch or call 07711 152 662.
