Nordic Climate makes further UK acquisitions

UK: The Swedish contractor group Nordic Climate has made further inroads into the UK market with the acquisition of Cactus Mechanical, Westcold Refrigeration and Aircon Maintenance.

The three Leeds-based companies, specialising in refrigeration, air conditioning and ventilation, offer a complementary mix of capabilities spanning design, installation, technical delivery and ongoing maintenance for customers in hospitality, education, sports and other public buildings.

Cactus Mechanical was founded by Christopher Lightfoot in 2020, while Westcold Refrigeration was established by Colin Brown in the 1980s. Lightfoot and Brown are co-directors of Aircon Maintenance, which they formed in 2021.

Lightfoot will take on the CEO position for the three-company organisation, with the companies continuing to operate under their existing brands and from their current sites. Brown will also continue in the business together with the wider team to ensure continuity for customers.

These latest acquisitions follow those last month of Anglo Irish Refrigeration of Ashbourne, Co Meath, MC Refrigeration of Wellingborough and Glasgow-based CSD Air Conditioning.
