Palace appointment for Aqua Cooling
UK: Hampshire-based cooling specialist Aqua Cooling recently had an appointment at the Palace to celebrate the company’s Queen’s Award for Enterprise success.
Directors Simon and Sue Davis received the honour at a royal champagne reception at Buckingham Palace last week. It followed the company’s success in winning the coveted Queen’s Award for Enterprise (Innovation) in April for its innovative Leak Prevention System (LPS).
The prestigious event, held annually to celebrate outstanding contributions to enterprise culture in the UK, was hosted by The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh as well as other members of the royal family including the Princess Royal and the Duke of York.
Aqua Cooling Director Simon Davis invented the LPS. “Our evening at Buckingham Palace definitely ranks as one of the most special times of my life,” he said.
“Standing in the receiving line waiting to shake hands with The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh was incredibly surreal but such an honour, and something I will always remember with great fondness.
“I feel extremely privileged to have represented Aqua Cooling at the reception and I am so proud of all that the company has achieved so far — long may it continue!” said Simon.
The Queen’s Award itself will be officially presented to Aqua Cooling this autumn by the Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire, Mr Nigel Atkinson Esq.
LPS offers data centre and server room operators a guaranteed leak-free cooling solution by circulating fluid at negative pressure. If any joint or part of the secondary circuit fails, air is drawn into the circuit and carried to the air separator. The benefit is that the fluid will continue to circulate, even if there is a leak within the system.
