Phil Ord joins Qvantum as UK CEO

UK: Phil Ord, former commercial product group director at Mitsubishi Electric, has been appointed CEO of Qvantum Energy Technology Ltd, the UK subsidiary of the Swedish heat pump manufacturer.

Ord joins Qvantum after a career spanning over 20 years at Mitsubishi Electric Living Environmental Systems UK. He first joined the company as an apprentice service engineer in 2001, rising through the ranks of design, sales and marketing roles.

Qvantum Energy Technology Ltd was established last year and is based in Leicester. Its Swedish parent was founded in Sweden in 1993 and is headquartered in Limhamn, near Malmo.

Last year, Qvantum raised €42m to complete a new heat pump production facility in Åstorp, near Helsingborg. In a further boost to its heat pump production capabilities, it acquired Electrolux’s Hungarian refrigerator factory in September in a €38m deal. The facility is undergoing a phased conversion to heat pump production and is expected to start production during the second half of this year.
