R404A faces more increases on August 1

UK: Wholesaler FSW is first to announce yet more price increases on R404A and other high GWP refrigerants next month, with others likely to follow.

With refrigerant suppliers racking up the pressure on high GWP refrigerants in order to comply with the European F-gas phase down, FSW has been forced to pass on a further 50% increase in the price of R404A – its fifth consecutive month of increases.

The increase means the price of R404A alone has risen nearly 500% in just four months.

R507 and R125 are also hit with 50% increases, while R410A, R407A, R407C, R407F and R422D will also see 30% increases. R134a will increase by 20%.

While the high GWP refrigerants like R404A and R507 are taking the biggest hits, even the medium GWP gases are affected. R410A has increased by nearly 200% in the same four month period, and R134a has increased by 130%.
