Space Air adds Daikin air handlers

Daikin-AHUUK: Daikin’s independent UK distributor Space Airconditioning is now offering Daikin air handling units.

Although Daikin is best known as the leading manufacturer of packaged and VRV air conditioners, the air handling units have come into the Daikin stable as a result of its 2006 acquisition of McQuay with its historically well-known AAF brand. But, while Daikin AHUs owe their design origins to AAF, they have been enhanced and now globally re-branded under Daikin Applied Products.

Manufactured in Italy, the air handling units are available in airflows from 0.14m3/s to 38.8 m3/s and can be adapted to suit most airflow requirements in pre-defined sizes. While 27 fixed sizes are available, the section-by-section design means that unit dimensions can be adjusted in 1cm increments. Units can be assembled on site, without welding, to suit space constraints of the installation. An integrated control option can also provide a “plug and play” solution.

Discussing the respective benefits of a single-source supply of packaged and applied systems, Space Air’s managing director Neil Afram commented: “Adding the extensive and exceptionally high quality, yet competitively priced Daikin Air Handling Unit range to our portfolio of Daikin products completes what we are calling the Total Solution.

“As UK Daikin Distributors since 1980, our main focus in marketing the extensive Daikin range of air conditioning has always been energy efficiency. These products have also been developed to offer market leading energy efficiency characteristics in addition to Daikin’s world renowned build quality and reliability.”
