Titan MD Don Belcher retires

Don Belcher: retiring after 30 years at Titan Engineering

UK: Don Belcher, managing director of Aylesbury-based refrigeration equipment distributor Titan Engineering, is to retire at the end of this month after more than 40 years in the industry.

Joining Titan in 1986, Don Belcher was appointed managing director in 2011 following the retirement of company founder Jim Proops and the company’s sale to French valve manufacturer RFF.

Ed Wright takes over as MD of Titan Engineering

The role of MD passes to commercial manager Ed Wright, who has been with Titan for 15 years.

“I’ve seen many changes in the industry since I first joined it with Holima Refrigeration in 1975,” said Don Belcher, “but perhaps one of the biggest is the push to use more natural, environmentally friendly refrigerants like ammonia, and CO2, with which Titan has much experience because of the products and systems we supply using these refrigerants.”

Starting his working career in 1967 with pump manufacturer Stuart Turner, Don Belcher also worked for Howden Refrigeration and spent a short period with Grenco Refrigeration.

A member of the Institute of Refrigeration for more than 30 years, he served on its technical committee and is also a long standing member of the British Refrigeration Association.

Another change at the company sees the appointment of Adam Mould as sales administrator.
