Wolseley sponsors charity fun day

UK: More than 2,500 people attended a charity fun day organised by Pipe Center and Climate Center regional branch manager, Beckie Dayton recently.
The event at Tamworth Rugby Club was held in memory of Neil Cleaver, a close friend of Beckie’s, who died in September 2013 after a long battle with cancer.
Wolseley UK sponsored the event, helping to raise over £8,000 for the charities Help for Heroes, Scotty’s Little Soldiers and St Giles Hospice.
Beckie said: “The staff at St Giles were brilliant – Neil got married there shortly before he died and they bent over backwards to ensure Neil and his wife had a lovely wedding day.
“The hospice does a lot for the local community and Neil’s family and friends wanted to give something back.”
Two rugby matches drew crowds to the fun day, with people turning out to see Tamworth XV take on Atherstone RFC, and Camp Hill challenge a team made up of Neil’s friends.
A special guest appearance from Leicester Tigers rugby player Jordan Crane was another highlight, along with a tug of war competition, bouncy castle, raffle, auction and live music.
