Beijer Ref acquires Spanish AC company GIA

SPAIN: Swedish wholesaler Beijer Ref is to acquire a majority shareholding in the GIA Group, one of Spain’s leading air conditioning suppliers.

Beijer Ref has signed an agreement to acquire 75% of the shares in the business, with an option to acquire the remaining shares. 

Formed in 2000 and headquartered in Barcelona, the GIA Group is one of Spain’s largest distributors with its own HTW and Giatsu brands. 

GIA claims a strong presence in Portugal, Italy, France and other countries. It closed 2023 with a turnover of over €100m and claims fifth position as the largest air conditioning companies in Spain.  

The company will continue to be led by its current management team.
