Belimo to invest in refrigeration start-up
3rd June 2019SWITZERLAND: Belimo, the Swiss manufacturer of actuators and control valves, is to invest in a new start up company to develop, manufacture and sell motorised refrigeration valves.
The move follows the foundation of a wholly-owned subsidiary, Belimo InnoVision AG, as a “business incubator” investing in innovative start-ups in the HVAC sector.
As a first step this month, Belimo InnoVision will acquire a majority interest in the start-up company Bereva GmbH. Following its foundation, Bereva GmbH will be headquartered in the Veneto region of north eastern Italy – a hub for refrigeration manufacturers, many of whom are currently buyers of Belimo equipment. The region is also home to the University of Padua, an important competence centre for refrigeration applications in Italy.
Belimo InnoVision AG will also offer start-up companies know-how, technical infrastructure and access to additional sales channels. Belimo says the company will also enter into strategic partnerships with interesting international partners in the future.
