Cross takes majority stake in Martin Food

IRELAND: Cross Refrigeration has acquired a majority interest in Dundalk-based foodservice equipment specialist Martin Food Equipment, enabling the companies to combine their expertise in refrigeration engineering.

Martin Food Equipment, has been supplying specialist equipment to the retail and foodservice sector for over 30 years. The company supplies leading brand names in catering equipment, accessories as well as providing training to clients nationwide.

Cross Refrigeration is one of Ireland’s leading suppliers of commercial refrigeration products and servicing, offering design, installation and support, with a 24/7 nationwide maintenance network.

According to a company statement, both businesses will continue to operate independently with their full teams. Cross Refrigeration currently employs 120 people with Martin Food Equipment employing 75 people.

“The partnership with Martin Food Equipment gives us an opportunity to harness the expertise of both businesses, providing an even more compelling offering for our customers,” said Cross Refrigeration director Michael O’Leary.

Martin Food Equipment MD Gerry O’Callaghan added: “We see many synergies across our businesses and customer-base. At Martin Food Equipment, our team works with some of the best-known brands in catering and retail across the country. Together with Cross Refrigeration, we will now be able to not only offer specialist equipment and training but also additional products and services that complement our own.”
