Daikin invests in IAQ technology startup

JAPAN/UK: Daikin Industries has invested an unspecified sum in Wlab, a London-based startup company also known as the Sensio Air, that uses AI and IoT to monitor indoor allergens.

The Japanese air conditioning manufacturer is said to have been collaborating with Wlab since 2018 to create an air conditioning solution business that realises safe and secure air and space. In an announcement on its website, Daikin says the investment will strengthen its cooperation with Wlab and accelerate the creation of new air conditioning solution business.

With an increasing interest in indoor air quality, the Sensio allergy tracker enables the monitoring of thousands of common allergens, including moulds, pollens, pet dander, smoke, air pollutants and more, in real time.
