Daikin reports six years of sales and profit increases

JAPAN: Daikin has reported record sales and operating profit for the sixth consecutive term.

Group sales for the year ended March 31 rose 8% to JPY2,481.1bn (US$ 22.57bn). Net profit rose 9% to JPY276.3bn ($2.51bn).

Air conditioning sales grew 8% to JPY2,222.2bn ($20.2bn) with growth witnessed in all major regions, including Japan, the Americas, and Europe.

Air conditioning sales in Europe, Middle East and Africa reached JPY332.2bn ($3.02bn) a 10% increase. Applied systems showed the largest growth at 22% by volume. Sales grew significantly in the largest market of the Middle East as well as in France and Germany.

The success of Daikin Applied products in Europe was mirrored around the world with all areas recording largest volume growth – Japan 16%, Americas 17%, China 6% and Asia and Oceania 23%.
