USA: Refrigerant manufacturer Koura has appointed Dr Chris Seeton as applications director to lead the company’s global transition to low GWP refrigerants.
Dr Seeton joins Koura from Shrieve Chemical where he was global director of technology. During his time at Shrieve, he developed lubricant technology for HFO refrigerants.
Prior to joining Shrieve, he spent six years at Honeywell, latterly as global technology leader for the development and global implementation of HFO1234yf.
Among his industry-wide roles, Dr Seeton served as the ASHRAE refrigeration committee chairman from 2014-2015 and is the current chairman of the SAE Interior Climate Control Fluids Committee. He is the leading global expert in the determination of refrigerant-lubricant mixture thermophysical properties including viscosity, heat capacity, solubility and miscibility and their effects on working systems, including compressor operation.
