Fernie ammonia leak victims named

CANADA: With the investigation into the Fernie arena ammonia leak still ongoing, the coroners office has released the names of the three who died.

They were Fernie City employees Wayne Hornquist (59) and Lloyd Smith (52) and CIMCO Refrigeration engineer Jason Podloski (46).

Podloski, of Turner Valley, Alberta, had been with CIMCO for nearly five years. Hornquist was the arena caretaker and Smith was director of leisure services and a part-time paramedic.

The 60 people living near the Fernie Memorial Arena who were evacuated on Tuesday faced a fourth night in a local hotel.
