Johnson Controls awarded $156m US defence contract

USA: Johnson Controls has been awarded a $156m contract to supply chillers and related equipment to the US Department of Defense.

The firm-fixed-price $155,980,424 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for the US Navy comprises 350-ton air conditioning chiller plants, backfit kits, auxiliary components, and related materials.

An indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract is a US government contracting vehicle that allows for the purchase of a range of supplies or services over a specified period without defining the exact quantity or timing of each purchase upfront.

The contract includes an option which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of this contract to $197,225,022.

The equipment will be supplied from Johnson Controls factory in York, Pennsylvania, and is expected to be completed by September 2028.
