ITALY: Leading refrigeration and air conditioning component manufacturer Lu-Ve has announced the temporary closure of plants in Italy and India, in line with government directives to combat coronavirus spread.

In accordance with latest Italian government orders to ease all non-essential acitivities, the Lu-Ve Group will stop production at the Tecnair and Manifold plants in Uboldo, Varese; the  TGD (Thermal Glass Door) factory in Travacò Siccomario, Pavia; the Air Hex facility in Alonte, Vicenza and SEST operations in Limana, Belluno. The plants will close from March 26 until April 3.

Similar measures taken by the local governments of Rajasthan and Maharashtra in India, means that the Spirotech plant in Bhiwadi (Rajasthan, India) and the former Alfa Laval site in Sarole (Maharashtra, India) will also be closed from 23 to 31 March.

In Italy, Lu-Ve says it is waiting for clarification from the competent authorities regarding the possibility of sending and receiving goods from customers and suppliers from March 26.

Production continues in Lu-Ve’s HTS factory in Novosedly, Czech Republic; SEST Lu-Ve in Gliwice, Poland, Lu-Ve AIA Asarum in Sweden; Fincoil Lu-Ve in Vantaa, Finland; SEST Lu-Ve in Lipetsk, Russia; and Zyklus in Jacksonville, Texas, USA.

The company’s commercial network, both Italian and international, and all branches, commercial and representative offices are operational (via remote working). The purchasing offices will also remain active, both centrally and peripherally, the company says.

On a positive note, the company’s Chinese production facility in Tianmen in the Province of Hubei recently reopened after being shut down since January 24.
