SWEDEN: Alfa Laval has sought to clarify its position following the announcement that it is to separate some of its heat exchanger products in a company reorganisation.

The Swedish manufacturer had previously announced that its commercial/industrial air heat exchangers, commercial tubular heat exchangers and heat exchanger systems businesses were to be managed separately in a new divisional structure. The company defines heat exchanger systems as satellite systems and domestic hot water systems.

According to Fredrik Ekström, vice president of Alfa Laval’s equipment division, all these products would remain very much a part of Alfa Laval and its offering to customers.

“Heat transfer is, and will remain, a key technology for Alfa Laval where plate heat exchangers are, and will remain, a core product. Other types of heat exchangers like brazed, fusion bonded, gasketed and semi-welded heat exchangers will stay within the divisional structure of Alfa Laval.

“If anything, we will sharpen our focus on these products groups even more and invest and push boundaries through the development of these products. We are committed to our products and technologies and will continue to develop these products to ensure we remain the market leader,” Ekström added.
