Swegon buys German diffuser company SLT

SLT’s head office and manufacturing plant in Lingen, Germany

SWEDEN: Swedish HVAC manufacturer Swegon continues on the acquisition trail with the purchase of German diffuser company SLT Schanze Lufttechnik.

Founded in 1985, SLT is an established supplier of diffusers with the engineering capability to provide complex and customized solutions. The company’s head office and manufacturing plant is located in Lingen, western Germany, near the border with the Netherlands. It achieved sales of €10m in 2019 and has 70 employees.

Swegon sees the acquisition strengthening its portfolio within room unit products and increases its position as one of the leading companies for indoor environment solutions.

“This acquisition gives Swegon a renowned and highly competent room units supplier in the largest ventilation market in Europe,” said Swegon Group CEO Andreas Örje Wellstam.

SLT started out as a distributor of diffusers in Germany, at that time selling Swegon products. “Since then, we have grown and developed our own product portfolio and manufacturing. Becoming a part of Swegon is like going back to our roots and I am confident that our customers will experience a very attractive combined offering,” said SLT founder Joachim Schanze.
