Tecumseh and Lu-Ve in “product partnership”

USA: In a surprise announcement, commercial refrigeration manufacturer Tecumseh says it is to launch a new range of unit coolers in a “product partnership” with Italian manufacturer Lu-Ve.

The Tecumseh unit coolers, which have been designed by Lu-Ve, are said to pair with Tecumseh’s Argus condensing units, including newly released low-temperature units.

The announcement in a press release late on Friday provides no other details of the partnership between the two companies, either in terms of sales or future product developments, but describes Lu-Ve as “an ideal partner for Tecumseh as we continue to provide customer-driven products to the commercial refrigeration market.”

It quotes Kit Fransen, Tecumseh’s North America director of product management and applications engineering, as saying: “The release of these products strengthens our position as a serious player in the market place.”

The new Lu-Ve-designed unit coolers are being made available in three different sizes with capacities ranging from 3,000-60,000 Btu/h. Airflows are from 550 to 6100cfm.

Tecumseh Argus condensing units

Medium temperature versions of Tecumseh’s Argus condensing units were unveiled at the AHR Expo at the beginning of the year. They are designed to meet or exceed the 2020 Department of Energy Annual Walk-In Energy Factor (AWEF) regulations for walk-in coolers and freezers. Optimised for HFO-blend refrigerants, the Argus range is now expanded with the addition of low temperature condensing units in the small and medium chassis.
