WRD careers webinar programme announced

UK: A programme of 16 webinars outlining career paths available to students in the refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pumps industry will support World Refrigeration Day, June 26. 

The seminars will take place during the week before and after June 26 in support of the 2021 campaign theme – Cooling Champions: Cool Careers for a Better World. 

The webinars will be organised by the World Refrigeration Day’s 2021 campaign partners: UNEP OzonAction, ASHRAE, EPEE, FAIAR, IIR, ISHRAE, and U-3ARC. They will describe trends and opportunities in a wide range of applications and disciplines.

“Refrigeration is at the very heart of modern life,” said Steve Gill, the head of the World Refrigeration Day secretariat. “More than 15 million people are employed worldwide in the refrigeration sector. The webinars will celebrate the contributions of these dedicated professionals in the design, construction, maintenance, and regulation of controlled environments and will help us to attract a new generation of cooling champions.”

June 21: Sustainability in Cooled Environments, presented by EPEE in English
June 22: Career Development for Youth, presented by IIR in Chinese
June 22: IEQ for a Better World, presented by FAIAR in Spanish and Portuguese
June 23: The Heroines of the RAC Sector in Africa, presented by U-3ARC in French and English
June 23: Roles of Women in Refrigeration Industry, presented by ISHRAE in English
June 23: Inspiring Women to Pursue Careers in Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning, presented by UNEP OzonAction in English
June 24: Futuristic Careers in Not-In-Kind Cooling Technologies presented by ASHRAE and IIR in English
June 25: Cooling Champions: Cool Careers for a Better Future, presented by IIR in Italian
June 25: High Temperature Heat Pumps: New Career Opportunities for Decarbonization of the Industrial, presented by IIR in English
June 25: Importance of the Cold Chain presented by FAIAR in Spanish and Portuguese
June 26: Cold Chain Overview – Current & Future, presented by ISHRAE in English
June 26: Cold Chain Challenges in Africa, presented by U-3ARC in French and English
June 28: Future of Refrigerants, presented by ISHRAE in English
June 28: Discovering Career Opportunities in Refrigerants Management, presented by UNEP OzonAction in English
June 29: The Present and Future of Data Center Cooling Technology in China, presented by IIR in Chinese
June 29: District Cooling – Concepts & Overview, presented by ISHRAE in English

There are no registration fees for any of webinars, and they will be presented in the language selected by the campaign partner. Registration details will be found at www.worldrefrigerationday.org on the websites of the partners as soon as confirmed.
