Aermec adds R290 heat pumps

ITALY: Aermec has added two new air-to-water heat pumps employing R290 refrigerant to its portfolio of sustainable commercial and industrial HVAC solutions.

Available in one size with a heating capacity of 101.7kW, the modular design of the PRM allows for up to nine units to be coupled together.

The inclusion of optimised tandem scroll compressors and the special architecture of the cooling circuit with regenerative exchanger are said to create high seasonal efficiency.

The PRG series is available in a power range from 49.9kW to 146.9kW and a heating capacity of 51.7kW to a maximum of 144.3kW.

As with the modular PRM version, Aermec has opted for R290-optimised scroll compressors and tandem and trio connection on each circuit to achieve the highest average seasonal efficiency.

Both models are capable of producing hot water up to 75ºC, and both have a refrigerant content below 5kg per circuit in accordance with EN 378-1.

All sizes of both series are equipped with an electronic valve, internal leak detector, double safety valves with exchange isolation valve and robust protection grids as standard.

Depending on the application, Aermec says the units can be retrofitted into existing systems.
