Atlas Copco attacks process cooling market

UK: Atlas Copco is breaking into the mainstream industrial process chiller market with the expansion of its TCS series of air-cooled machines.

The addition of new 110kW-170kW and 350kW–610kW models extend the TCS range beyond its original 190kW-310kW bracket to satisfy the most in-demand process cooling requirements. Larger models exceeding 1MW are promised next year.

Atlas Copco sees the expansion as an important step in its process cooling journey following the acquisition of Eurochiller in 2019.

The new models incorporate multi-scroll compressor technology and intelligent fan control logic, delivering SEPR values consistently above 6.

The TCS range is supplied as standard with R454B refrigerant.

“By covering cooling capacities from 110 to 610kW, we are now addressing the heart of the market for process cooling,” commented Atlas Copco’s business line manager for process cooling solutions, Chris Ferriday. “With larger screw compressor chillers also on the way, the TCS family is becoming a cornerstone of our process cooling portfolio.”

Designed with connectivity in mind, each chiller features the Atlas Copco’s Elektronikon Mk5 controller, and offers full compatibility with SmartLink remote monitoring. This provides operators with real-time performance insights, energy efficiency reports and predictive maintenance support.
