Energy-saving constant temperature and humidity unit

JAPAN: Panasonic Environmental Engineering has launched an energy-saving constant temperature and humidity unit for testing and research institutions.
These indoor units precisely control temperature and humidity, primarily used in institutions such as hospitals, companies, and universities for plant cultivation and testing of pharmaceuticals, food products, and precision equipment.
Operating continuously during the testing period, they consume significantly more power than typical air conditioning systems, and in recent years, with rising electricity prices, there has been a growing need to reduce running costs.
Panasonic’s new unit synchronises the control of the cooler, heater, and humidifier, optimising output according to the load. This is said to achieve approximately 44% reduction in power consumption in an environment with a set temperature and humidity of 23°C and 50%. It can control temperatures from 15ºC to 35°C and humidity from 40% to 85%, and ensures operational accuracy of ±2°C for temperature and ±10% for humidity.
The Panasonic unit employs an inverter on the chiller’s compressor and links it with the heater and humidifier to suppress unnecessary operation. In addition, it optimises operation by performing PID control according to the load of the indoor and outdoor units, achieving high energy-saving performance.
