ITALY: Daikin is expanding its ducted fan coil range with the FWQ-A, a higher energy efficiency model, offering greater installation flexibility and enhanced integration with modern building control systems.
Equipped with a high-efficiency BLDC motor and open protocol communication, the FWQ-A is seen by Daikin as a significant step forward in the evolution of its hydronic portfolio.
The FWQ-A is available in nine sizes and offers cooling capacities from 2.1kW to 11.5kW. Each unit is supplied with an integrated drain pump and additional sub-drain pan, offers optional factory-mounted valves and a wide selection of accessories.
Designed for both 2-pipe and 4-pipe systems, cooling outputs are up to 12.5kW at 50Pa under standard conditions, ensuring stable airflow in typical installations.
For more demanding configurations, the unit can operate efficiently at external static pressures of up to 140Pa – maintaining performance even in complex layouts or long duct runs.
The BLDC motor is designed to support ultra-quiet operation, with a variable dip switch enabling precise adjustment of fan speed to match the system’s external static pressure.
As well as using open protocol communication for seamless BMS integration, the FWQ-A is also fully compatible with the Daikin’s SCS smart control system.
The FWQ-A is supplied with standard G2 filters, with optional G3 and G4 filtration available for applications requiring higher air purity.
