Daikin Applied expands in Latin America

USA: Daikin Applied has improved its ability to serve customers in Latin America with the acquisition of Panama-based contractor SAEG Engineering Group.

SAEG was founded in 1997 in Miami, USA, and has since covered a large part of the Latin American market with offices in Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Panama and Chile.

“SAEG bring us specific engineering expertise in the complex-project arena with a strong focus in industrial, mining, and pharmaceutical manufacturing,” said Daikin CEO Mike Schwartz. “This acquisition gives customers and our partners immediate access to experts who will help create smarter, more configurable solutions that optimise building environments for their people.”

Daikin says that SAEG will provide proven engineering expertise as well as commercial support to the its existing team and enable it to offer enhanced solutions and systems capabilities.

“We are confident that combining forces with the SAEG and Daikin teams will deliver integrated solutions and competitive edge that our customers and building operators need to achieve their business goals and reach new levels of building performance,” said George Calienes, SVP/general manager, Daikin Latin America Operations. “SAEG’s commercial division represents other top brands giving customers in Latin America access to a world-leading portfolio of products and services. The powerful line up helps us further engineer comprehensive system solutions for our customers.”

Last month Daikin Applied Germany  acquired Aircool GmbH, its Munich-based sales and service partner.
